TEM Facility: News
Since 08/09/2011, we started to train CryoTEM self-users. In our first training group, we had 2 students, Volodymyr Borshch (LCI/CPIP of Kent State) and Zhun Zhou (Department of Chemistry of Ohio State).
On 07/28/2011, the first paper including TEM result performed at the TEM facility of LCI was published in Inorganic Chemistry by Prof. Songping Huang's group at Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry of Kent State.
Since 06/13/2011, we started to train self-users of the TEM facility. In our first training group, we had 3 students, Murthi Kandanapitiye (Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry of Kent State), Michal Marszewski (Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry of Kent State), and Young-Ki Kim (LCI/CPIP of Kent State).
Since 05/23/2011, we started to charge instrument fee and staff service fee at interim hourly rates listed in the "Policy" page. The first sample studied was from Prof. Peter Plaffy-Muhoray's group at LCI/CPIP of Kent State.
Since 12/22/2010 to 05/20/2011, the TEM facility had served the research community at free of charge for a total of 280 service hours. 165 samples from 9 KSU research groups were studied.
On 04/18/2011, a talk was given to summarize the status of the new TEM facility by Dr. Min Gao at the LCI Monday seminar, showing a very successful 4-month test run of the facility. You can find the talk here.
On 02/08/2011, the cryo TEM function was put into service. The first cryo-sample we studied was from Prof. Antal Jakli's group at LCI/CPIP of Kent State.
On 12/22/2010, the TEM facility at LCI of Kent State started to serve the nearby research community. The first sample we checked was from Prof. Mieteck Jaroniec's group at Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry of Kent State.
