Smalyukh honored with International Award The
Honors and Awards Committee of the International Liquid Crystal
Society headed by Dr. Patricia Cladis has unanimously selected
Dr. Ivan Smalyukh's 2003 PhD dissertation on "Three-Dimensional
Director Fields Studied by Fluorescence
Confocal Polarizing Microscopy" derived from his research at the Chemical
Physics Interdisciplinary Program/Liquid Crystal Institute for a 2006 Glenn H.
Brown Prize.
