Emeritus Senior Research Fellow

Neubert received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Rochester in 1968. She returned to Bristol Laboratories in Syracuse, NY as a senior chemist where she had worked previously as a junior chemist. Neubert came to Kent State University as a postdoctoral fellow in 1972 and became a research associate in 1979.

Since Neubert's arrival in Kent she has been designing and synthesizing liquid crystalline materials for researchers in the Liquid Crystal Institute and throughout the world. She has also studied the relationship between molecular structure and liquid crystalline properties. Her research has resulted in over 95 papers in refereed scientific journals. As an adjunct associate professor in the Chemistry Department, Neubert has trained numerous undergraduate students in the art of organic synthesis. She is a recognized expert in the characterization of liquid crystalline phases using hot-stage polarizing microscopy.

Neubert is a member of the American Chemical Society, Sigma Xi, and the International Liquid Crystal Society.
