Lyotropic Liquid Crystals and Membranes Concentration
This area of concentration is appropriate for science majors who wish to extend their undergraduate education to the science of materials in living systems. This concentration is intended for undergraduate majors in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering and possibly biology, although some preparatory coursework may be required for the latter. In addition to coursework in biochemistry, this program includes courses such as Lyotropic Liquid Crystals, Micellar Systems and Chemistry of Amphiphiles, which give the students an in-depth understanding of lyotropic liquid crystal materials.
