Textures at the isotropic B7 phase transition of a liquid crystal mixture containing two different types of
banana-shaped molecules. Black area is in isotropic phase. The complex textures show different pathways
of transformations between helical filaments (typical for the B7 phase) and spiraling ribbons (typical for the B2 phase).
