About Liquid Crystal Day

Liquid Crystal Day serves to provide platforms for intellectual and enlightening interactions between students and researchers from different academic and professional areas. This annual event was initiated by Professor L.-C. Chien in 2004 to continue the LCI's tradition of holding symposia on liquid crystals.

This one-day symposium and industrial exhibition is free and open to anyone interested in liquid crystals. Best poster awards will be presented to students who submit an abstract to show a poster. Based on the abstract submission, some students will be selected to give an oral presentation.

K-12 students that are interested in liquid crystal science are encouraged to attend and participate. Undergraduate students interested in learning more about the Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program are especially encouraged to plan a visit for this day (some travel support available).
