Admission Information

The Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program offers graduate courses and research leading to the Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The program involves the participation of the Departments of Chemistry and Physics at Kent State University.

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the program, students from a variety of undergraduate disciplines, such as chemistry, physics, chemical physics, materials science and engineering will be eligible for admission to the Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program. Admission will be granted on an individual basis by examination of the student's background.

Applicants for graduate appointments beginning Fall Semester should apply for admission no later than January 1 to assure consideration in the first selections made by the department. The application fee must accompany your application. We will not consider your application until all materials and the application fee have been received.

In addition to the application forms which will be sent to you, you will be required to submit three confidential letters of recommendation or the recommendation forms sent with the application, completed by persons who are familiar with your educational background and goals and your ability to excel in a graduate program.
