General Guidelines
The Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program follows the general
regulations of the College
of Arts and Sciences and the Office of Research and Graduate
Studies. Together with a faculty advisor, incoming students can
determine which concentration will best suit their needs. The students with undergraduate
backgrounds in physics and chemistry conduct research in the interdisciplinary
field of liquid crystals and other soft matter materials. Some of the examples
are collected at http://www.lci.kent.edu/research.html;
the dissertation titles of the most recent PhD theses of CPIP students are collected
at http://www.lci.kent.edu/PhDtheseslist.htm.
Concentrations
The Chemical Physics program offers a general program of study
as well as a choice of four concentrations leading to a M.S. or
Ph.D. degree.
