The Liquid Crystal Institute/Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary
Program (LCI/CPIP)requests proposals for Samsung Research Scholarships to
be awarded to graduate students conducting research in liquid crystals. We particularly
encourage proposals that involve new display concepts and the development
of new materials for displays. The scholarships will be awarded each year to two graduate
students who will be supported by the annual stipend of $20,000 sponsored by
Samsung Electronics Corporation.
The proposal should include a cover page with the title
of the project, technical abstract, name and electronic communication address of the author;
name and signature of the research advisor. The proposal description (maximum length:
one page) should include the description of the research to be conducted,
research plan, intellectual merit and broader impact of the proposed activity. A short CV
of the author (maximum length: two pages) should be added to the project description.
Responsibilities would include writing a technical report each semester for submission
to Samsung Electronics Corporation.
