1. The nonrefundable Application Fee of $60.00
Please note, the CPIP may elect to pay the $60 application fee. To apply, please send an email message with “Request of Application Fee Waiver” in the subject line of the message to: cpip@lci.kent.edu

2) Graduate application form with all requested information.

3) Two official transcripts of academic work and degree certificates from each college or university attended (except Kent State University).
For international students - official transcripts in the original-language should be sent from each institution directly to the Admissions Office at Kent State University. Notarized documents are not acceptable. If the transcripts are not in English, please include a certified translation of the original documents. Translations must be literal rather than interpretive.

4) English proficiency examination (international students). Evidence of English language proficiency may be provided by submitting results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), OR the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).

Kent State University reserves the right to require evidence of English proficiency for all applicants, the adequacy of which shall be at the sole discretion of Kent State University. Any request for a waiver of the English proficiency requirements must be submitted in writing, with supporting documentation.

5) Financial Information Worksheet.

1. Three confidential letters of recommendation, completed by persons who are familiar with your educational goals and your ability to achieve them. These individuals should comment on your professional and/or academic ability. This letter of recommendation should include information regarding your prior academic background, individual initiative, and the recommender’s knowledge of the student’s outstanding projects.

2. The completed Application for Graduate Appointment.

3. Official score reports of the GRE.

4. Statement of Purpose (recommended, but not required)
Give a brief statement outlining your reasons for undertaking a graduate program, your particular area of specialization within the major field, your past academic work, and your plans for future occupation or profession. Also include any additional information that may assist the selection committee in evaluating your preparation and aptitude for graduate study at KSU.
