JakliDr. Antal Jakli is an Associate Professor at the Liquid Crystal Institute.  He received his Ph.D. (1986) in Statistical Physics from Eotvos University, Budapest, Hungary. He joined the Liquid Crystal Institute staff in 1999. His research centers on electro-optical, electro-mechanical and rheological properties of ferroelectric liquid crystals.

Phil WestermanDr. Phil Westerman became a visiting scientist at the LCI after retiring from the Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine and Pharmacy.  At the LCI his research interests include biological liquid crystals and novel liquid crystal synthesis. 
Stefanie Taushanoff is a fifth year graduate student researching bent-core blue phase materials. Nick Diorio is a fourth year graduate student studying the rheology of bent-core liquid crystals.
Wilder Iglesias is a third year graduate student working on nematic membranes. Jason Morvan is a first-year graduate student building an electrospinning device and studying polymer fibers.
Cuiyu (Tracy) Zhang is a first-year graduate student learning to characterize bent-core liquid crystals. Deirdre Manion-Fischer is a chemisty undergraduate completing an honors thesis on liquid crystal synthesis under the direction of Phil Westerman.
Katie Lupo is an undergraduate from Elmhurst College in Illinios participating in the Reseach Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.
