13th International Conference on Ferroelectric Liquid Crystals FLC2011

Recently Professor Jakli received the 2010 Luckhurst-Samulski Prize.

Dr. Stefanie Taushanoff successfully defended her PhD thesis to receive her degree in Chemical Physics. She is currently teaching at Wasada University in Tokyo, Japan.

Several students are doing non-dissertation research our group during this semester:

2nd Year CPIP Students

  1. Cuiyu (Tracy) Zhang is characterizing novel bent-core materials and participated in a research trip in the National High Magnetic Field Lab in Tallahassee.
  2. Jason Morvan is working on ferroelectric electrospun fibers.

High School Interns

  1. P'Ashe Jones (Roosevelt High School) is earning credit for her work on Scientific data managing.
  2. Jeffrei Choi (Case Western Academy) is working with Wilder Iglesias on the optical studies of free-standing nematic membranes.
