MRS Student Chapter Formed at KSU
Congratulations to CPIP students for establishing the Materials
Research Society (MRS) student chapter at Kent State University.
After attending an MRS meeting, Lanfang (Leaf) Li played a major
role in organizing this chapter by contacting students to find
out their interest in such a chapter.
The group held their first meeting on November 2, 2004 , and received
chapter charter from MRS during 2004 fall meeting. They began making
plans for special events as attending the Spring meeting, invited
speakers, etc.
The MRS Kent State Chapter currently consists of 14 students from
CPIP, Physics and Chemistry.
"We are glad to see the successful
establishment of our student chapter of MRS at Kent State University,"
Li said.
Work on the chapter web site will begin immediately. LCI members
will be notified when the pages are created and links are in place.
"We expect the establishment of this student chapter could benefit
all
students, and we are expecting participation from more people.
If you are interested, please address your correspondence to our
executive board for this year." Li said.
